Meet our Owners
We have had event horses with David since he was a Junior, and 15+ years later we continue to be very happy owners. Eventing is not for the faint hearted and as many will know the successes are always very special but are measured by the more often unpredictability of horses on the day. What is predictable at Reybridge is the warmth and friendliness shown by David, the Doel family and his team. This, along with the care and diligence given to all the horse, at whatever level , we believe makes Reybridge a perfect place for our horses.

Glynn and I are thrilled to have a couple of our horses with Reybridge Eventing. We think David Doel is a really good rider for our Herbie (Midnight Galaxy) and also for William our four year old. Herbie has really come on under David's guidance. We love how we have been accepted into the Reybridge team. They really care about their owners and make you feel very welcome at events even if you do not have a horse running; it is lovely being part of the Reybridge team. We are so looking forward to seeing how our young William progresses and of course Herbie. A lot to look forward to.

We have had horses with Reybridge Eventing for over a decade now. David took one of our homebreds all the way from Pre-novice to 5*. Not only is he a consummate horseman but the whole Reybridge Eventing experience is founded on great teamwork (with family at its core), high standards of professionalism all-round, and a very friendly bunch of other owners and supporters. It is always fun to go to events, home or abroad, attend at the yard, outdoor school or training days. Young horses at Reybridge are kept fresh and stimulated with appropriately varied activities - hacking, school work, local jumping and dressage competitions, hunting, fun rides, and of course regular turnout on the farm. Communication with owners from David and the team is notably excellent.

Why own an eventing horse? It’s expensive and the prize money, if one ever wins anything, is trivial unless you get to the higher levels but it’s exciting and the greatest fun, gets one to beautiful places, meeting interesting people and out in the fresh air.
I have been an owner for 14 years now, always with David, and have watched the progress of not only my second horse on the journey from beginner to 5* but also David, from Juniors to one of the best eventers in the world, and assuredly one of the very best across country. I feel my horse is safe.
With no experience at all of horses, and certainly not with other riders, ownership began with being part of a syndicate, and David and Reybridge Eventing were chosen by Caroline our leader. She “liked the way he rode”. I also liked the way the horses were treated - out in a field every day, everything clean and tidy but part of a farm with other things going on. And now in an airy ‘American Bar’ a gift from David’s grandmother for whom he wears red colours cross country “so I can see him”. We are all rather grateful for that!
Horses are unpredictable, as Trevor, from whom I bought the horses, said “Remember Christine, it’s just a lottery”.
Prepare for dizzy heights and awful lows, in my case one moment competing at Burghley, the next on box rest for 12 months. But it’s still fun watching David’s other horses, chatting to his parents, the grooms, to other owners. One feels part of a team.
